Called Communication on June 25th  to Confer the EA degree

Grand Lodge has come and gone and it went by smoothly.  We had a good showing of Delegates from our lodge and the 17th District as well.  I would like to thank the Brothers who we able to make it out to the event.  We will be reviewing the outcomes of the legislative sessions in the upcoming stated communications.  I would like to congratulate R:.W:. Donald Goolsby, and R:.H:.Ryan Kilmartin who will be the 2015-2016 DDGM and District Instructor respectively for our District.  We look forward to working with them.  I would also like to congratulate our three new FC’s , Brothers Angel Antonio Marcial, Bruce Micheal Earl, and Thomas Arthur Brassil Jr., who were passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on May 21st at our 2nd stated communication.  They are progressing well through the degrees and we look forward to conferring the sublime degree of Master Mason at the end of July for them.  They will make great additions as Master Masons to our lodge and fraternity.  We had a good turnout of brothers that came out to support them.  The degree team did a fine job, and R:.H:. Donald Goolsby, District instructor of the Proud 17th Masonic District, delivered a wonderful FC lecture as always.

In June, we will continue with degree work, as we already have a group of five candidates that we will be balloting on to go through the three degrees in freemasonry at the 1st Stated communication on June 4th.   The EA Degree will be scheduled for June 25th, and will be a called communication.   Worshipful Mike Kilgore will be presiding in the East for this degree.

Lastly,  I would like to remind everyone that are annual 4th of July All Kids bike parade will take place on July 4th at 10:00 am.  We will be serving breakfast from 8:00-10:00 am.  This years parade looks to be the biggest yet.  Please make plans to come out and help out and participate in the parade if you have little ones.

Frank Lopez – Worshipful Master, Winter Garden Lodge No. 165

June greetings from the west.  Grand Lodge was a fast few days and this month starts with new MW, RW, and RH’s.  RW Teal and the Masonic Home Committees proposal was received and approved to continue development.  Many of the proposed legislation was voted in alignment with jurisprudence.  Resolution On Expulsion For Conviction of Certain Crimes; Failed.  Protecting Whistleblowers Who Report Unmasonic or Other Illegal Conduct; failed.  Require Proof of Intentional Violation At Masonic Trials; Fail. Lodge Minutes Printed and Distributed; Failed.  Combining the Cipher Code into the Floorwork Manual; Pass.  Grand Honors when receiving pin/certificate after 50 years; pass.  Conduct Business in Any Degree; Fail.  Resolution For Social Media Policy; withdrawn.  We will have the legislation book at lodge meetings if you want more information on the other resolutions.

A few things happening around the district and lodge in June. Masters and Warden’s with our new RW/RH will be June 6 at St.Cloud Lodge. Breakfast 8-9am and meeting 9-10:30am.  District School of Instruction at St Cloud June 9 and June 24.  Open books at Winter Park June 20.  Because of the 4th of July at Winter Garden, July’s Masters and Wardens will be in our lodge on June 27.   Lastly we plan to have an EA degree lead by W. Kilgore in the east on June 25 for a called communication.   I am sure as we get close to the first week of July we will need as much helping hands as we can to get the lodge ready for our 4th of July.  Please start clearing and marking your calendars now for this big event for both the lodge, and Winter Garden community.

It saddens us to let you know that there will be no entry from our brother Chaplain this month as he himself and his family are in need of our prayers.  Brother Joe is in Connecticut with his daughter and family as his son & law passed away suddenly from a short illness.  From talking to Joe, the son & law was a well loved and respected member of his community and the outreach has been overwhelming.

Please remember our 17th District brethren Pete Jackson and Woody Hutton who have recently passed and please offer up prayer for our W.B:. Ed Smallwood who lost his father at the beginning of the month.

Let us also remember our troops and law enforcement personnel who continually put themselves in harms way in order to preserve our freedom, liberty and safety.
