FROM THE EAST
July is here again and Winter Garden Lodge is once again a busy place.
Our 11th Annual Kids Parade and Breakfast will begin at 8am on Friday morning, July 4th. Breakfast will be served from 8am until 10am. At 10:00am the Kids Parade through downtown Winter Garden will begin. Anyone wishing to participate in the festivities, please feel free to come on out, we will find something worthwhile for you to do. We have faces to paint, bicycles and wagons to decorate galore. Last year we had over 600 kids in our parade. Remember the profits from this year’s breakfast will go to show our gratitude to our local schools.
For the Brethren, on July 5th at 9:00am, we will be hosting our District Masters and Wardens Association Meeting. Come out to see and hear all the things going on in your District. This is the monthly meeting where all events are scheduled and discussed for the entire District. We will be serving Breakfast from 8:00am until 9:00am prior to the meeting. Come on out for a great breakfast and enjoy the fellowship with your brethren. Memorial Lodge will be meeting right after the M&W meeting. Your Brother Clawson Peacock is this years Worshipful Master.
The following Saturday (7/12)begins the District’s reception of the new Grand Master and Officers. Everything starts with St. John’s Day celebration at the Winter Park Masonic Lodge. A FREE breakfast is served, then this is followed up with the Roast of the New Junior Grand Warden. Winter Park Lodge has always put on a great roast, and I assure you this one will be something to behold. The ceremony is usually followed by a guest speaker. Later in the evening is the dinner and reception of the Grand Master. This year it is being held at the Scottish Rite Temple in Winter Park. Winter Garden Lodge will have tables reserved, so come on out to the dinner and the meeting following. During the meeting, brothers from the different lodges are introduced and counted. Let’s have a great showing of members to make our Lodge stand out!!!! Remember, the only cost for this day of Masonic events is your time. All the meals are paid for by your Lodge, so take you wife out for a great meal and entertainment. Registration begins at 5:00p, Dinner at 6:00p and our state meeting begins at 7:00p. As always, there is a great program scheduled for the ladies during out short meeting. I hope to see a great turnout at both the St. Johns Day and Grand Masters events.
The on July 19th we will be conferring the Master Mason Degree at our Indoor/Outdoor Degree here in our Lodge. We feel it is better, at this time of the year, to hold it indoors because of the heat. The degree will begin at 10:00am, break for Lunch at 11:00am and then continue at noon. Please come out and support your newly raised brother. It’s only a few hours of your time, and he will never forget it.
I hope to see more members at our regular stated meetings. I know there has been some sickness and vacations, but we sure do miss you when you are not there.
See you in Lodge!!!!
Brother Jerry Clark

FROM THE SOUTH
Greetings from the South. Thanks to all who continue to come out to see “what’s for dinner.” July will be a busy month for “refreshment.” We can use all the hands and smiles we can get for our annual 4th of July breakfast and parade. Helping to walk the dining room, greeting visitors, all help will be appreciated even beyond kitchen assistance. Pancakes, sausage, and fruit and donuts are on the menu for Friday. Winter Garden is hosting Masters and Wardens and we will be serving biscuits, sausage, eggs (and maybe some left over pancakes). We will also be making our usual meal for the 3rd Thursday which will also be the DDGM visit. Be sure to come out and enjoy some fellowship and bring the family. We always have extra. Our Master Mason degree on the 19th will have pulled pork, beans, slaw and bread. Perfect combination for a Saturday lunch in July.
Masonic education. We currently have around 10 brothers going through their degree work. Not only will we have the Master Mason degree in July, but probably have a Fellow Craft to follow in Aug or Sept. The lodge is growing. Be sure to come out and share your experiences and motivation with these new brothers. We can always use additional instructors if you can give up some time. It is our goal to have brothers participate in Master Mason and Lodge Officer courses after we get through July. If you are interested in these let me know so I can add your name to the list for when we can schedule time to start.
Bro. Mark kirkley,
FROM THE SECRETARY
Good Day Brothers,
I want to wish all those born in July a Happy Birthday. Hope every one can make it out to the Breakfast on the 4th 8-10 and Masters & Wardens on the 5th. We still have a few Brothers who have not paid their 2014 Dues. Please get that in before it is to late.
