FROM THE EAST
We had a full month of events in July. To start with, we had a very successful 4th of July Kids Bike Parade, with almost 800 participants in the parade, and close to 500 meals served that morning. A special thank you goes out to Brother’s Dan Kuhl, Clawson Peacock, and Mrs. Betty Goodwin who were instrumental in coordinating and executing this great event. I would also like to thank all of the Brothers, spouses, and children that volunteered that day. We had a great turnout and collected over $1200 that will go to our Adopt a School/Teacher Program.
The next event in July was the Grand Masters Official Visit on July 11th. Your lodge was very well represented with 18 Brothers attending and an additional 12 spouses/girlfriends. We had a total of 30 attendees from our lodge. We had a great time and the spouses/girlfriends enjoyed themselves as well.
We also conferred two degrees in July. I would like to congratulate our 3 new Master Mason’s, Brother’s Thomas Brassil, Bruce Earl, and Angel Marcial, who were raised on July 25th by the Past Master’s of Winter Garden Lodge. A special and sincere thanks goes to the Past Master’s that participated in the degree. You all did a great job and your lodge is very proud of you! We are very lucky to have so many past masters that have remained active in the lodge. We also have a new EA, Brother Alvaro Barboza, who was initiated on July 27th through courtesy work at Mokanna Lodge. Make sure to welcome him the next time you see him. That makes 5 new Master Masons for the year, with 7 more brothers currently working through the degrees, and 2 more candidates that we will be receiving their petitions at the next stated communication. Let’s keep up the membership drive.
In August, we will be conferring a FC Degree at our 1st stated communication for Brother Angel Miranda, and we will be having our DDGM official visit at our 2nd stated communication. I hope to see you all at these events.
The next time you come up to the lodge room, look up at the new lights that were installed on July 18th. They look great and what a difference it makes to the over all look and feel to the lodge. I appreciate the work of Worshipful Ken Lyon’s, Worshipful Craig Frasier, and Brother Carl Bentley who installed the lights. I would also like to thank R:.W:. Jack Quesinberry and W:.Gerald Whitlock for lending the lodge the taller ladders to reach the light fixtures.
I look forward to seeing you all during the upcoming events, and would encourage you to reach out to a member that you haven’t seen in a while and invite them to lodge again.
Worshipful Master, Winter Garden Lodge No. 165
FROM THE WEST
Greetings from the west.
July in behind us and what a great month it was. Thanks to all the individuals and families that came out to help as well as participate in the 12 Annual 4th of July Parade. Each year it gets better and it runs so smoothly due to the dedication of the craft. We hosted district schools of instruction and covered opening and closing, conducting, stewards during degrees. The Grand Master visit was another great event. It was well attended by our lodge. Many members and their significant others went out for drinks and dancing in Winter Garden later that night. The “Ladies of the Lodge” it quiet the spirited group and looks to be a growing force at WG165.
August will be another active month around the lodge and district. We will have a Fellowcraft degree at our stated communication Aug 6 for Angel Miranda. Our meeting on the 20th will be the DDGM official visit. Come out and show support for the lodge in both. ME/MLT will be at Lake Wales Lodge on the 22nd. Lastly August 31 at Winter Park will be lodge consolidation and merger meeting with SGW, RW Stan Hudson.
Be sure to go on line and check out the new Grand Lodge website, Grandlodgeoffl.com as well as our 17th Masonic District website…Centralfloridamasons.com.

FROM THE SECRETARY
The year is already half over and we have so many things still planned for Winter Garden Masonic Lodge. Please come out and see what’s going on and join in on the festivities. We will be conferring one, maybe two degrees in August. Want to be a part, or just see a great degree conferred, come on out. Keep tabs on the Lodge’s Website for Dates and Times.
As Secretary, I still have to remind the Brothers of their obligation to pay their dues. NPDs will be going out soon. Don’t be one of them. Happy Birthday to all of my Brothers who have a Birthday in August!!!
See you in lodge soon!
W:.Sec. Jerry Clark
FROM THE CHAPLAIN
Please keep Worshipful Craig Frazier’s Mother, as well as Brother Craig & his family in your thoughts & prayers. His mother is in stage 4 breast cancer which has spread to other parts of her body. She has chosen not to have chemotherapy but has chosen hormone therapy instead. We all know someone who has fought this terrible disease & it is a tough fight requiring strength & courage. Pray for a good outcome for her.
As you do my brothers, I enjoy & refresh myself every time I hear the obligations & lectures which are recited during our degree work. I especially enjoy the Charge we are given when the Lodge is closed. I am reminded each time how we should conduct ourselves out side the Lodge when we are among our family, friends, work mates & other folks. Also how we are to look after each other in Brotherly Love.
