FROM THE EAST
July was a very busy month at your Masonic Lodge. The 11th Annual Kid’s Parade went off like clockwork. Your brothers served over 700 breakfasts and we estimated there were almost 900 kids in this year’s Parade. It was fabulous!!! A big Thank you to all the people who helped out, and the Biggest Thank You to Betty Goodwin, who help organize and keep us straight throughout the whole process. The profits from the breakfast will be donated to 4 of our local elementary schools.
Also in July, we raised two new Master Masons: Brother Austin Arthur and Brother Dan Kuhl.
Congratulations to both and welcome to the ranks of Master Mason. Both Brothers Arthur and Kuhl have already stepped up and are teaching some of the new initiates. They are and will become a greater asset to our Lodge, as their Masonic journey continues.
August is going to be busy too. We will be stepping down to the Entered Apprentice Lodge on August 7th to allow a few of our Entered Apprentices to return their EA Catechisms. So come out, hear our work, and volunteer to fill a position in the upcoming Fellow Craft Degree. Get Involved!!!
During this meeting we will be discussing the Resolutions for Changing our Bi-Laws and adjusting our yearly dues amount. Please try to attend, I welcome everyone’s opinion on these matters. We will be voting on these two Resolutions in September.
Then on our Dinner Meeting Night, August 21st., we will be celebrating one of our distinguished Brother’s 50th year in our Great Fraternity. The lodge will be set at ease, to allow the public into the lodge room, to allow them to enjoy the presentation of the 50th Anniversary Pin and Certificate. This Brother is still active in our Lodge and most of our events throughout the year. I can’t mention his name, but this red-headed Brother is known as quite a talker. Cake will be served during the dinner in celebration. Come out and join in the fun. There aren’t too many Master Masons that receive this distinguished award, so don’t miss this one. We will also be having a Flag Building Presentation during our dinner hour by the Sojourners Flag Team. I hope to see a lot of our members in attendance.
I would like to thank Brother Larry Nieman for completing the lettering and Brother Frank Woods for constructing the Square & Compasses for our new Lodge Sign on the East wall of the Lodge Building. There can no longer be any doubt as to what that 2 story building over there is. It sure looks impressive!!! Brother Nieman is also in the process of joining our Lodge too. If you haven’t seen the sign yet, please come by and take a look
Your Lodge is doing great things and staying very busy. Come out and attend and join in the fellowship with your Brothers.
I hope to see you in Lodge this month.
Brother Jerry Clark
FROM THE WEST
Congratulations to our new Master Masons, Brothers Robert Daniel Shadowhawk Kuhl and Austin Andrew Arthur, who were raised on July 19th at Winter Garden Lodge. I want to thank everyone involved with the degree for their hard work, and to our newest degree team members Brother Henry Wright and Mario Perez. They performed the JD and SS positions respectively during the degree and did a fine job. I would also like to congratulate Brother Clawson Peacock on his 1st performance as the Senior Deacon during the degree. I look forward to seeing a repeat performance in the upcoming F.C. Degree. As always brothers, I would encourage your involvement with any of the degrees that we confer. It is a team building event and something to be proud of when we are able to confer a great degree. If you are interested in participating in our upcoming degrees, please let me know. We should have an upcoming FC Degree in September.
Winter Garden Lodge had a very busy and successful July. Our lodge is accomplishing great things together. August should be a little more quiet. Brother Kirkley, our Junior Warden, will be setting up some times for the brothers to complete their Master Mason Exams I, II, and III, as well as our Lodge Officers Training Courses I,II, and III. Please see Brother Kirkley for those times. Practices for the FC Degree have not been set up yet. Once we have a set date for the degree in September, we will send out practice dates and times. Thanks again for your continued participation.
If we haven’t seen you in lodge recently, we would love to see you.

FROM THE SOUTH
Greetings from the South. What a busy July we had. You know the saying “there is something masonic happening every day you can be involved in. “ I think July Winter Garden had something going on
every two or three days. Visibility and involvement is what it is all about. Our 4th of July parade went off perfectly, DDGM visit was smooth, Masters and Wardens, as well as school of instruction were great events. Thanks to everyone who helped out for the 4th. It was very appreciated to have the extra help in the kitchen cooking and cleaning (thanks ladies). Now on to August.
August is Back-To-School month. As such we will be scheduling time for Masonic Education for the next few months. As our EA’s, and FC’s continue to work on their catechisms, and we get ready for more degrees, it is time to look towards our Master Masons mental nurishment. Let me know if you are interested in Lodge Office Courses and/or the Master Mason Exam. My goal is to offer classes at the lodge before November. We will do in group settings like we did last year so we can accomplish it without major impacts to your busy schedules.
Our meal for August 21’st is Shepherds Pie. That is hamburger, corn, and potato made in a casserole. I will make one with cheese and one without (you can still add-on more cheese). We will serve rolls and the usual deserts and beverages. Bring the family, come on out for good rib-stickin’ food.
Bro. Mark kirkley,
